It was good to see a movie that showed the other people who struggled for Indian independence. All our lives we have been bombarded with propaganda about how much Gandhi did for our independence. While his role in the struggle cannot be denied, we are not encouraged to question some of his actions. This movie helps us do that.
Although it's not absolutely accurate and has more songs than necessary, it's nice to watch a movie where Gandhi is a grey figure and not the usual glossy white that he is shown as.
