This is an old Georgian folk tale about a crumbling fortress that is magically preserved when a young man is bricked up within its walls, an event that is only dealt with in the last 10 minutes. Before that, you have to endure a lot of formalised tableaux set against either the aforementioned fortress or the Georgian steppes. Whatever momentary interest you might have in seeing the landscape and culture of an unfamiliar part of the world is soon lost when tedium sets in with a vengeance.
