This is a TV movie from 1990 adapted from a novel by Maeve Binchy involving a group of characters who travel back to their village from Dublin every weekend in a lilac bus. Less than 20 years old it is already a period piece as so much has changed in Ireland in that time. It's interesting to see the shots of Dublin but the whole thing seems very old-fashioned although the problems of the characters are timeless. The acting is fine too. One for a rainy afternoon perhaps.
