do you know what tonto means in spanish?By gr33neyez (10 reviews) , 18 Jul 2013
[Highly rated reviewer]This is movie highly underrated, the movie starts in 1933 in a museum of sort, where meet a older looking tonto and he tells the tale of the lone ranger, the movie is a bit slow for the first 30 minutes yet still very funny all the way through.
Johnny depp as tonto steals this movie but Armie hammer is also very good as the lone ranger.
I highly recommend you ignore the critics, as for me this one of the best Johnny Depp movies along with pirates of the Caribbean.
I rate the lone ranger 7/10 it's 2 hours and 22 min of fun.

Hi oh Silver awayBy Metaliant (65 reviews) from Walsall , 11 Dec 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideWith most remake/reboot film versions of classic TV series I was a bit worried that this would end up as cacky as The Green Hornet. Thank god I was wrong. Unlike the film mentioned The Lone Ranger is well made and has the right amount of humour in the right places. The only problem I have with the film was when The Lone Ranger and the cavalry officer were shooting each other without reloading their revolvers. How was this done I have no idea and that hasn't spoiled the film for me and I would recommend this film to anyone who wants to watch a very good film.

Saturday Matinee Film - enjoyable comic rompBy Bilbobogin (4 reviews) , 10 Dec 2013For those who doesn't remember what the original TV series were like would not enjoy this film. The film is just a romp with action slap-stick humour set pieces. Jonny Depp played the comic role to perfection with a deadpan expression on his face, while Armie Hammer plays the Matinee idol to near enough perfection (he also plays the straight man to Depp's comic role) by staying oblivious to the antics of everyone around him until it was required him to be the lone ranger. To those critics who have slammed the film didn't realise that the film was supposed to daft and it didn't take itself serious. We need to have some films to take away the seriousness of life and bring some humour back into it. This is why Jonny Depp enjoys playing comic roles that critics hate, because its pure escapism and allows the inner child to escape from an adult body! So don't listen to critics and allow yourself to become a child for a while and enjoy this romp with over the top characters.
Appalling nonsenseBy billybbadger (65 reviews) , 09 Dec 2013.Appalling on pretty much every level. Part of the 'fun' is the massacre of a load of Indians. A whole village so presumably women and children died but we don't see that so it is just glossed over. Soldier Blue for the kiddy-winks. And the U. S army is a conscienceless unit which would've done the Nazis credit. When the remaining men of the tribe turn up - not too surprisingly a little peeved - they are ruthlessly gunned down. Obey orders no matter what they are. The story is idiotic. The Ranger himself is useless - that's the incredibly clichéd joke of the thing. Of course he turns competent whenever the story demands it and then back to being Frank Spencer on horseback when that's what's needed. And to top it all it is really quite dull. You usually no what's going to happen long before it does. Rubbish.
HI HO SILVER AND AWAYBy a customer , 09 Dec 2013This from the start is an action packed filled film for all the family with excellent effects and shouldn't be missed. Why the critics didn't acclaim it I don't know?? Kids loved it and I loved the pastiche !! Don't Miss It Can't wait for the DVD!!!
