    [Highly rated reviewer]

It's got a disjointed storyline, confusing cuts between scenes, and is poorly dubbed. But this movie has some superbly choreographed fight scenes; long single takes, great combinations of styles, and plenty of action. If you're looking for a kung fu classic, you could do much worse. It centres around two men's search for some hidden treasure as they strive to defend a group of people from a mystery killer called 'the spider'. There are treasure maps, laughs and fights aplenty along the way. Not as good as 'The Mystery of Chess Boxing' but that's not available on DVD!

Some people can't tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese, Kung Fu and Jo Orton. If you can, you'll like this.

This is another one of those films which I think ratings don't really work for, and requires a few words to accompany whatever rating you choose to give it.

It's a bit of a slow mover and I had it at around 3 stars for most of the way, raised slightly half way through by Eric Tsang's comedy stylings.

But I had to raise it to 4 stars purely based on the final 30 minutes of the film. A brilliant set and fight scenes to match.

It's all worth it in the end, so give it a chance.

It rare to see David Chiang (aka Keung Dai-Wai) and Norman Chu (aka Chui Siu Keung) pair up to perform combination fight, they usually played opposite to each other, however there are good mix of fight scenes, it too bad that it was dubbed and poorly dubbed too, should leave it in original language with English titles.

Ignore the Radio Times description - this isn't the Joe Orton comedy...it's some old Japanese rubbish...

the film had an inadequate storyline.
