YES THE EXTRA SCENES ARE WORTH ITBy Carl Hunt from Isle of Wight , 12 Aug 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]Quite simply the best Trilogy there's ever been and for a fan like me, the extra scenes were only making thins better. I just can't understand people who've reviewed this saying that they make no difference!!! There's an extra half hour for gods sake!!
I found that what had been edited was mostly humorous moments and character building that was non vital to the plot, so it got axed, but what an excellent film it is with the extra included and I think made entirely different in doing so.
Even if you've seen the original take my word and watch this (or infact watch all of the extended versions) it wont disappoint...a classicly emotion stirring, sword slashing fantasy extravaganza!

never outstays its welcomeBy a customer , 28 Aug 2013No question that Peter Jackson's 'Rings' trilogy is epic film-making of the highest quality. The set-pieces are wonderfully orchestrated, the battle-scenes lusty and blood-thirsty, and a sense of awe pervades the whole atmosphere. On the downside some of the acting is 'rustic' at best (of the hobbits, only Sam can be watched for more than a couple of minutes before embarrassment sets in), and the love interests are perfunctory to say the least. Still, the ending is one that produces the sensation of tears welling up! Will the 'Hobbit' trilogy eventually bear comparison? We can only hope that it will.
Epic Story, Epic MovieBy a customer , 26 Jul 2013One of the best story's of all time now captured on Blu-Ray. Watch the Trilogy and then enjoy even more now the Hobbit is on the shelves. Epic.
Extra Better for Extra FootageBy AVSheard (133 reviews) , 11 May 2013The original version was great but this one is so much better. There is more fighting, more humour and entire story lines that were cut out. Having read the books I could clearly relate a lot of great but non essential parts of books clearly present in this version. It clears up a lot of stuff that was left not fully explained like how Aragon got those boats off the Corsairs of Umbar and how Gothmog (ork in charge of the army that attacks Minas Tirith) finally meats his end. It dose go for a long time so you will need to leave a while to watch the hole thing but it is well worth it.
Superb TrilogyBy a customer , 19 Apr 2013A MUST see Trilogy. The sets, the music, the special effects and the acting are first class. A great spectacular trilogy of film making.
Fantastic franchiseBy SeveredLimb (1 review) , 07 Jan 2013We all know this franchise was one of the best that's ever come out, second to Harry Potter of course. If you have never seen it you must if you have it never hurts to see it again :)
