bugs and more bugs......
By hipflask (2 reviews) , 03 Mar 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
what a shame that what looked like and started out as a really good game is totally spoiled by bugs and game breakdowns. first time I killed the spider boss the game would not let me progress, so started fro mthe beginning again (no back load selection point on ps3) and managed to progress past the spider this time yehah......well you would think. reached the next boss, some captain before the dragon, and he killed me. when game respawned me no captain to fight and could not go back the way.....GRRRRRRRRRR. gave up and sent it back really disappointed.- Was this review helpful to you?

(28)Average at best
By cvyas (23 reviews) from Northampton , 26 Feb 2013I like the online multimedia concept and it can be fun at times, but overall it is a very average game and 3 stars is all I could give it. Quite glitchy too.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not great.
By XRecoveryLP (4 reviews) , 14 Feb 2013Was not to bad combat wise, but I thought the game was a little bland and repetitive. Doing the same thing over and over plus your limited to doing things like changing your face there's only like 5 different faces.- Was this review helpful to you?

Bored of the Rings
By Pnutosan (10 reviews) , 29 Jan 2013Unless you are an insanely big LOTR fan just give this a miss. Looks horrible, sounds horrible (although I liked the Dwarf's voice) and extremely repetitive. Smells like cash in to me.- Was this review helpful to you?

A good hack and slash, but buggy.
By a customer , 13 Jan 2013One of the better hack and slash games and this one does give you the feel of middle earth and brings in familiar charactors and locations along the way in a story that entwines with the original plot. If you expect a deep experience a la 'skyrim' this isn't it, but a hack and slash with level ups, skill trees and selction of armour, weapons and tools, it does deliver. Unfortunately there are bugs though and one such bug brought my game to a standstill at chapter 5, part 5 a portal was missing so my charactorscould not proceed along a path. game end :(- Was this review helpful to you?

Great if you love button mashing, not so great if you don't...
By Ultikaw (1 review) , 21 Dec 2012I've always had a very poor relationship with LOTR games as none of them seem to be able to live up to the scale of the films. This unfortunately was no exception! The game starts off fairly promisingly giving you the choice of 3 different characters and even the first level is a lot of fun. (The first time you decapitate something is very fun!!) Unfortunately by the 2nd/3rd level you start getting the sneaking suspicion that you've had all the game has to offer, you would be correct!! If you're a fan of button mashers then you would probably quite enjoy it but I personally found it to be very repetitive. Even the cameos from the main LOTR characters unfortunately didn't really seem to give the story much sense of scale as everything felt very linear and the world felt quite small.- Was this review helpful to you?
