Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tale is brought to life as Professor Challenger and his crew of intrepid, though somewhat misguided, explorers continue their attempts to find a way out of the Lost World, whose existence they originally set out to prove. Challenger is joined in his expedition by Marguerite, the wealthy but cruel financier of the trip; Lord John Roxton, the dashing adventurer who is haunted by his past; and Ned Malone, the reporter whose participation was meant to impress his mostly uninterested paramour. The group's survival is due largely to their acquaintance with Veronica, a wild woman who was likewise stranded in the Lost World when she was a child. Growing up there, she gained valuable knowledge of the land and its dangers. The group encounter all manner of threats, ranging from dinosaurs and other creatures, to the mysteries of time travel, demons, and ghosts from the spirit world.
