Zac Efron shows audiences he's all grown up in this schmaltzy melodrama, based on yet another Nicholas Sparks novel.

Nice SceneryBy a customer , 26 Sep 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I saw this on a plane back from the US. I had no idea who the main players were but was extremely impressed by Zac Efron. The story is pretty standard fare with the usual overt moral messages but the scenery and images are breathtaking with all of the charachters credible giving the storyline a nice feeling of reality plus it has cute dogs and a glimpse of Efron's butt (what's not to like girls?).
Apart from Mr Efron being fit as a butchers dog he played the character of Logan with a powerful, quiet sensibility which actually overcomes some of the more cringeworthy lines he's given. Taylor Schilling is also very good, there was definitely nice chemistry.
There is no hint of teen fluff or shallow childish pap from HSM star. In short this is a great love story. Rent this film for a romantic night in or for a bit of feel good, the scenery alone is worth it

The Lucky OneBy Kela23 (636 reviews) , 01 May 2013I have to admit to having a large crush on Zac Efron and he played his part perfectly in this film. Very grown up compared to his previous outings in High School Musical....... The chemistry between him and Taylor Schilling was perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A definite chick flick and one I will be watching again!!!
Very EnjoyableBy a customer , 01 May 2013I'm just a soppy romantic and I enjoyed this film. It really does help that zac Efron is lovely too ogle! Beautiful surroundings and the little boy was a sweety. I would watch it again, just because of Zac though!!
Loved it - Chick flickBy Ispy (12 reviews) , 24 Apr 2013Loved it - it starts off slowly and gains speed, I wanted it to last forever. The scenes were filmed beautifully and the acting totally believable - even the dogs were great !! Zac Efron was stunning, definitely eye candy ! Chic flick for sure.
Good love filmBy a customer , 22 Apr 2013I liked this film very much. Tiss a love film but bit different from the norm. Give this a go, is what I would say to anyone undecided, not difficult to follow the story, just a good watch.
Lacking soul in spite of the sceneryBy puddles22 (36 reviews) from hove , 19 Apr 2013As others have said, it was a beautiful setting and a gorgeous looking cast who did their best, although there wasnt much chemistry between the leads..does Zac even know how to be sexy? Maybe they are just too young to pull off this kind of grown up script. Grandma & Ben felt the most authentic to me. Unfortunately the dialogue just didnt ring true a lot of the time and the story was trying too hard to elicit emotion from the audience rather than making its unfolding feel real. However, if you're looking for a light & pretty-looking movie on a rainy day then this may will tick your boxes.
