Nice SceneryBy a customer , 26 Sep 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I saw this on a plane back from the US. I had no idea who the main players were but was extremely impressed by Zac Efron. The story is pretty standard fare with the usual overt moral messages but the scenery and images are breathtaking with all of the charachters credible giving the storyline a nice feeling of reality plus it has cute dogs and a glimpse of Efron's butt (what's not to like girls?).
Apart from Mr Efron being fit as a butchers dog he played the character of Logan with a powerful, quiet sensibility which actually overcomes some of the more cringeworthy lines he's given. Taylor Schilling is also very good, there was definitely nice chemistry.
There is no hint of teen fluff or shallow childish pap from HSM star. In short this is a great love story. Rent this film for a romantic night in or for a bit of feel good, the scenery alone is worth it

Lightweight but inoffensiveBy luke__warm (2 reviews) , 02 Dec 2013This is a straightforward romantic drama where both the main characters are 'damaged' in some way but over the course of the film they heal each other. Obviously an Efron vehicle, you can see the plot coming a mile away but it is still enjoyable and will not cause too much offense. I did steer clear of showing it to my 12 year old on the basis of the 'love' scene which was a little OTT.
Fantastic film.By a customer , 16 Nov 2013I really enjoyed this film. I thought the acting was brilliant and the storyline was romantic and gripping. I definitely reccommend this.
The Lucky One, one for a girly night in.By thecuckoo (136 reviews) , 01 Nov 2013Ideal for evening in with the girls and a bottle of wine. Lovely romance story which has you thinking it will never be but events turn things around.
Plesant and easy viewingBy a customer , 28 Oct 2013Never any doubt how this will end but it is well acted and pleasant to watch. A nice story and a good no effort film, a family movie
zac efron at his bestBy a customer , 30 Aug 2013This is a beautiful love story with an incredible chemistry between the lead actors (although who could fail to have chemistry with zac efron!) I loved the story, the setting and the music. Zac has come a long way since his HSM days and the quality & sensitivity of his acting makes me want to watch him again and again. If you enjoy a good romance this is one to watch!
