Cult Classic!

Christian Bale looking his worst and acting at his best. If you like films that make you think, then this film is awesome and not to be missed. Though it's sinistercism will mean it's not everybones cup of tea.
Scarred throughout with an underlying dark feel to it. The machinist takes you into the mind of Bale's charachter Trevor who suffers from extreme insomnia. As the film progresses it allows you and Trevor to simultaneously unravel the trail of clues leading to the cause of his insomnia. The backdrop of the average dull toned town that he lives in adds even more realism to this must see film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Hmmm A very weird but interesting film.

takes a while to get into. But You have to watch it all in detail to understand wots happeneing and wheres its coming to. One of these highly clever films. Tho. a lil slow sometimes it still is a good film.

Dont be fooled!

This is the most boring tedious and obvious movie I have ever watched. Next time I shall just watch paint dry. I would recommend you do the same.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from London, England , 20 Oct 2006I was expecting to have a more surprising ending then I got. Maybe something supernatural. But in the end it was very natural. But it was still quite OK though.
But what was worrying was the amount of weight that the main actor had lost. It was horrible to watch at time because of this and I did wonder weather this was necessary or weather he was going to far. He looked like a concentration camp prisoner.- Was this review helpful to you?
