Most helpful review
Easy watching...

Here's a good film that makes you feel like the money you paid for it was worth spending.
Thoroughly entertaining from start to finish, with superb acting from Hawthorn that warrants a score of six even before the fantastic and fascinating regal setting that adds icing to the cake.- Was this review helpful to you?

(28)Senility without the sap...
By a customer , 09 Feb 2013Rented this out of respect for Nigel Hawthorne, but the film is too staid, too safe, too National Trusty. It's as if the writer can't decide whether to be sympathetic or mocking and instead ends up with a parched period drama. Sir Nige does his best with it, but the best moment is the reading from King Lear. That says a lot....- Was this review helpful to you?

Decent Film
By Da1969 (3 reviews) , 18 Nov 2011I became interested in this film after watching Garrows Law (tv programme) and enjoyed it. It has a great cast and is well acted but I would have liked to have had been given more information about the rest of his reign.- Was this review helpful to you?

What What!
By Crookshanks (327 reviews) from Newport, Shropshire , 30 May 2011Firstly I'm very surprised that there are only 25 member reviews of this film, either some people are adverse to leaving a review or they are missing out and not seen this movie! I was a little dubious to start with watching this movie, I had no prior historical knowledge of George III and I didn't really know how the film was going to pan out. The acting was truely amazing and well scripted with some very hilarious moments! I have not seen a great deal of historical movies, hence my four star rating as I have little to compare it to. A great movie nonetheless.- Was this review helpful to you?

The Madness of King George
By a customer from London , 11 Mar 2011One of the best films I have seen. It was a privilege to see so many of our great actors and actresses working together.
I found it immensely moving, especially the wonderful and sadly missed Nigel Hawthorne.- Was this review helpful to you?

Superb
By John Sweet from Callington, Cornwall , 29 Oct 2010Brilliant, mesmerising from beginning to end, all the superlatives you can think of.
Having just read William Hague's biography of Pitt the Younger I was struck by the amazing likeness of the actors to the official portraits of Mr Pitt the PM and Mr Fox the leader of the opposition. What brilliant casting!- Was this review helpful to you?
