(60)Oh the cheese of Hollywood! - but it works
By Jesty (23 reviews) , 16 Nov 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Ladened with mozarella but really enjoyable - great acting, a little on the 'fantasy' side of things, but ends up with an important message we should all take heed of especially in these current times.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Long and Easy Watch
By Cato (705 reviews) from Lydbury North , 13 Oct 2011Jim Carrey tries very hard to be a serious actor in this overlong and sentimental piece which reminds one very much of the films that Frank Capra and Jimmy Stewart used to make. However, it's a nice film to while away an evening watching - you're not particularly stretched to understand it but you are affected by it all the same. .- Was this review helpful to you?

Majestic message of truth, rights and justice.
By Onlylexus (119 reviews) from Chesterfield , 25 Aug 2011A film that says more than you may think. Look beyond the cheese and there is a very strong odour of truth and justice and how we should cherish our freedoms and rights against the bully boys sitting in power. I found it slow going at times, but eventually the tears came rolling out of my eyes such was the simple power of this film. Corruption is everywhere, even here in the once 'Great Britain'. Never ever give in to doing deals in exchange for your freedoms, never bargain your principles for what you know is right. Loved this film and it's charm along with the love oozing from every character portrayed in it. What the hell happened to kindness, manners, empathy, unselfishness, and sheer love of our neighbours? This film shows how it could be, how it once was, or am I just an old fart dreaming of utopia? I too will not give up my fight for the son I love, Elliott I love you son, till the day I die.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Pure and Simple Feel Good Movie.
By scififoreveryone (8 reviews) from Worthing , 23 Aug 2011I was very ready to dislike this after seeing some reviews but it was a lovely film. It is a pure, innocent and beautiful film with convincing acting from Jim Carrey , which i find some comedians struggle with after being known for being funny. It has lots of characters that make you really care about them and a really uplifting ending. Nothing too deep about this film but a real feel good experience. As hinted on before, it is an old movie with a modern feel, lovely!
Most will enjoy it unless you are looking for the very silly , rubber faced Jim Carey , then you will be disappointed. So ignore the bad reviews and give it a go.- Was this review helpful to you?
