Director Tim Hunter made his name with the startling River's Edge, a harrowing portrait of disaffected youth. This sees him covering similar sort of ground and the result is his best film of the 1990s. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays a teenage slacker who, along with his friends — including Fairuza Balk — fills his wasted days by hanging around malls and indulging in petty crime. Then his long-lost older brother Matthew Modine turns up out of the blue and initiates him into burglary. The thriller elements don't quite come off but Hunter still has a sharp eye for adolescent trauma. The talented supporting cast includes Michael Madsen, Mary Louise Parker (The Client) and Kate McGregor-Stewart (Father Of The Bride).
Watched this film a little strange in parts & confusing but was an interesting film on the whole, I did watch it a second time and enjoyed it a whole lot more definitely worth watching!
