    Five Fingers

Unusually, since I have a penchant for 1940s-1960s British B&W films, I had not heard of this one and what a little gem it turned out to be. One or two dull moments but plenty going on and a storyline which holds you. One to own I think.

Even though (unusually) the disc was slightly damaged causing the film to stick in a couple of times, this is an absolute classic.

I'm from N Ireland so have an interest the views of old Belfast, but this film is much more than a slice of nostalgia. James Mason putting in a fine performance, atmospheric, thought provoking. Music that puts a lump in your throat, and a storyline that will break your heart. Brilliant, a must watch for anyone who enjoys well constructed and beautifully photographed film.
