A clever and highly imaginative story, created and directed by the wonderful Coen brothers. Full of unexpected twists and turns, it surprises, amuses and entertains.

Billy Bob Thornton is the central character, and is so perfect in the role that one wonders if the Coens wrote it specifically for him.

The black and white photography has a superior, somehow contemporary look to it, and is obviously the work of an ace cinematographer.

This was one of my favourite films of all time.
