    Streep Tease

    • 08 Sep 2009

Fifteen Oscar nominations in 30 years! It’s no wonder that Meryl Streep takes award ceremonies in her stride these days. Seeing as how she’s lost on no less than 13 of those occasions she’d have to be a gibbering wreck if she took them too seriously. My first prediction for the Oscars 2010 is that la Streep will add another nomination to her record-breaking tally, this time for playing TV chef Julia Child in Nora Ephron’s Julie and Julia. And my second prediction is... Read more

'Does it bother you that I call you "Willy"?', Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkins) demands of prosecuting attorney Willy Beachum (Ryan Gosling). Gosling/Beachum laughs and shakes his head. No. 'Very well then, Willy' Hopkins teases out every ounce of absurdity in the name. A boy's name, not a name for a high-powered attorney, surely? The two men don't actually pull down their trousers and compare sizes, but there's that too, in the background. Crawford is a brilliant engineer, wealthy, drives a... Read more

Fans flocked to the cinema at the weekend sending Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, which stars Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, to the top of the charts. Noughties Bond has new love interest

    • 05 Sep 2006

When it emerged last week that Layer Cake star Daniel Craig would share a gay kiss in his latest film, Infamous, many Bond fans were said to be shocked. So the news that Bond 22, the follow up to Casino Royale, Craig's first Bond film, will see the secret agent with a new love interest is sure to cement the actor's machismo for 007 homosceptics. Or is it? As film insiders have revealed that Bond, being a noughties man and all, will have a male love interest in the next instalment of the... Read more
