Van Bebber's film of two halves - first half full of sex and LSD, second half - extreme violence and murder. The violence is shocking and brutal, but so in your face it becomes oddly tedious. There's a thin line between accurately portraying the reality of frenetic, drug-fuelled murders, and being overtly gratuitous and wallowing in juvenile unpleasantness for the sake of it - the film crosses that boundary on occasions. The sub plot about 4 modern-day murderous junkies was more disturbing (to me) than the titular psychos, which is a drawback. It will challenge for the most violent film of the year - but this is not necessarily a recommendation.
