I rented this out because I was interested in the murders, and Charles Manson having read the book Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi. But please, who ever gave this film 5 stars should be punished. Seriously this ranks as one of the worst, most disjointed, and over-the-top films I have ever seen. This is no way gives you an insight into the mind of Charles Manson or his 'family', and tries in vain to portray the end of the sixties in the most trippy and violent way. Jim Vanbebber should be banished from making another movie ever again, he is denying young, talented filmmakers everywhere by producing a mess like this. And he really does he no excuse as he wrote and directed this poor, poor film. The film was extremely amateurish. I even made a better film in college when I was 17. Don't get me started on the murder scenes, even Charlie would have cringed at them. At one point it looks as though one of the killers is in fact stabbing the ground. Sharon Tate is played by some chubby Anna Nicole Smith lookalike and the acting is truly horrendous. Please, don't make the mistake I did by renting this film out. It really is a waste when you could be renting something worthwhile.
