    I really enjoyed this...

I rented this not knowing what it was about at all but I love period drama and Ciaran Hinds so that decided it! Throughly enjoyable, the plot is extremely good (thanks to Thomas Hardy of course) and is almost played out scene for scene with the original book. All performances excellent (esp Ciaran Hinds) and it really captures the feel of the times.

I would definitely recommend it to all!

    Classic ,in every sense.

Fabulous acting From Hinds and May however the dire Scottish accent of another, leaves a lot to be desired.

All is forgiven by the superb cast, acting and emotional depth of the characters, which make this production a definate must see.

The depth to which Hinds character plummets to is only surpassed by the honour and honesty of those closest to him. He test them again and again yet it is alway's he, who is found wanting.
