This movie still creates a glow in the darkness of everyday lives and brings to life the magic opf the Miracle of Fatima. Worth the effort to watch.
This was a very exciting film to watch. I think often 'religious' films are seen as dull and worthy, but this story of how three young peasant children are blessed to see apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in early 20th century Portugal manages to be reverant and appealing to spiritual sensibilities whilst also being suspenseful and gripping. The children faced great danger in anti-clerical Portugal, from the State and its agents, as well as from well-meaning would-be disciples and enthusiasts. The film wonderfully portrays this amazing story and held my 4 year old and me spell-bound.
