After its huge success with Dracula and Frankenstein, Hammer turned to another vintage Universal monster for its scream dream team of Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and director Terence Fisher. Although rather talky and undemanding plot-wise, Cushing is marvellously crisp as the tomb-desecrating archeologist, fending off the malevolent attentions of gauze-wrapped Lee. And, unlike your usual shambling mummy, Lee really does capture the murderously powerful, fast-moving ferocity of the bandaged reincarnation, as he stomps through foggy London.
Typical Hammer vulgarization of a Hollywood legend; starts slowly and unpleasantly, but picks up speed and resource in the last half hour.
If you like hammer films try this one its great fun with Peter Cushing trying his best against all odds this is a fun sit back and enjoy without having to think of sub plots etc...just enjoy
brilliant old time classic
