Bring the muppet show back to TVBy a customer , 07 Feb 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]Saw this in the USA last December, and was so looking forward to it.
It has moments that are so 'muppets' and revisiting the TV show was wonderful. But it felt like it could just have been a little more, both as a Muppet Show and a movie. ( Didn't know who a couple of the guest stars were...)
Biggest disappointment: Miss Piggies Voice was an average attempt, (as was her puppet work). Kermit's voice ( and some of the other characters) were irritatingly not right.
Why Disney needed to put the words 'a disney property' in the titles is anybodies guess, it has rate up there with 'Santa doesn't exist'.
Oddly the movie sets the muppet theatre in the USA - I always thought it was in the UK or was that just the filming of the TV show?
All in all, good silly muppet fun with some great numbers.

Muppet rubbish.By KenDee (5 reviews) , 15 Jan 2013If this was a return of the Muppets then goodbye. I use to like the Muppets but this would turn me against them. Not like the old Muppets shows. Don't rent or buy.
Massive disappointment.By a customer , 13 Jan 2013I love the Muppets, especially treasure island! I was really excited to see this and placed it on high priority. My other half turned it off after 5 minutes when they started to brush their teeth in sync. It took me 2 more sittings, sat alone, to wade through this godawful movie.
I could go on forever, so to summarise:
The good: TV pig singing in 'The Moopets,' the Swedish chef kissing a chicken, Animal, Jack Black, Beaker and Sheldon (Jim Parsons).
The bad: Poor Story, Fozzie Bear - what is going on? Kermit, Jason Segal, Disney getting involved, too many humans getting in the way, Marley and Marley...
It's all gone a bit Disney 'moral' and lacks substance. Very, very weak. Frank Oz is the winner in all this not getting involved. They have sold themselves short. Very Sad.
Fails to recapture the magic of the TV Show.By Gaias (9 reviews) , 12 Jan 2013I had high hopes based on the reviews when it was in the cinemas. It was claimed that this movie returns to the magic of the TV Show. Alas, it was watchable, but despite trying hard, it failed to match the appeal of the TV series. We have been left disappointed!
Brilliant as alwaysBy a customer , 11 Jan 2013as far as I am concerned it should be 10 star as I absolutely love the Muppets and wish the Muppet show would come back. It is a must for any Muppet Lover. Doe Kermit read these reviews?
With A Tear And A Smile, Such Joy to Watch.By Sony3DGuy (53 reviews) from Barnsley , 10 Jan 2013I use to love the Muppets when I was a little, and after a long absence from our screens, they made this wonderful movie... Its brings back some wonderful memories of the Muppet Show and they have done a fantastic job here, re-creating old sets & scenery to good effect and bringing back some of our best and most well-known Muppets we all loved dearly, its truly heart-warming and some wonderful songs to bring you joy and happiness.. with a tear of remembrance to your eyes as well. The photography and colour is truly magnificent here and needs to be fully appreciated on blu-ray. OK its not perfect, some better actors could have been chosen for some characters and for children/adults who do not know or remember who the Muppets were may find it hard to understand this film, and may soon tire. Its definitely one for the fans of a time once knew. Still its a wonderful re-visit to the Muppets, brings back a tear and a smile and have added this to my purchase list.
