American satirist Albert Brooks casts his waspish eye over the film business, writing, directing and starring in this tale of a screenwriter who has lost his touch. Though he is sceptical when successful writer chum Jeff Bridges claims to be inspired by a real-life muse, Brooks nonetheless woos the temperamental Sarah (Sharon Stone), only to find her turning his life with wife Andie MacDowell upside down. Despite Brooks's ever-present cynicism about life, his film is full of lovely, gentle humour, while film fans will love the cameos from Stone's other clients, among them James Cameron, Rob Reiner and Martin Scorsese.

A real gem but a sleeper. It shows L.A. life spot on!
Bit of a confusing film storyline i found was a bit all over the place film in general did hold my interest as i wanted to see how it ended but truthfully wouldn't recommend it basically a cheesey film!
