This is a good instruction dvd, Fred may not be the greatest singer but this is a good thing, as it isn't so intimidating as someone hitting each note perfectly. It's like having your uncle showing you how to play the songs, as it's relaxed. I'm pretty poor at playing guitar and so some of the stuff was beyond my ability, but still useful. If your half decent at fingerpicking and singing you'll get these songs down pretty quickly. I'll probably stick to singing and strumming them but include bits learnt from from the dvd. Worth watching even for Freds performances anyway. I would also recommend the beginners country guitar dvd also by Fred Sokolow if you want to learn more songs.- Was this review helpful to you?

You never get any TAB booklets sent out with a rental DVD.
