  • A waste on the big screen

I would urge anyone to wait for this on dvd, as the big screen experience truly ruins its potential for several reasons.

Every jarringly bad and repetive crab hand kill shows how ropey the CG is. The other people in the audience get rather annoyed when you splutter with laughter into your pocorn at the atrocious dialouge and plot exposition. The cold dread of standing under a 30 foot tall Ron Perlman with the camera angle shoved up his already gargantuan nostrils. The creeping terror in the pit of your stomach that maybe someone stole this story out of the notebook of sci-fi movies you used to write in school when you were 15 and this is all now some elaborate joke that all your childhood termentors have now come back to play on you by making this into a film and proving to the world that none of the girls should kiss you and everyone thinks you smell.

This is a film that should be enjoyed in darkened room with a small group of like minded friends with open minds to such dreadful monstrous deeds of cinema as dracula 3000, house of the dead and southland tales.

I feel I may be overstating the fact slightly, but I left this film after 48 minutes (by the time the 3rd voiceover to further the plot came in) and I have sat through the entirety of various other terrible films in the cinema. This is only up there with curly sue starring james belushi. Well done simon hunter.

I have already got it reserved under my masochism range. That is why 1 star, as i know i will watch it again. I hate myself.

Saw the actors that I like thought it was going to be worth watching. Much to my horror, too gory. Only got through the first 15 mins or so, couldnt watch anymore. Certainly not for the faint hearted.

Completely spoilt by the lack of a plausible background plot. Apparently after an Ice Age a machine comes to Earth from space then begins transforming the survivors into mutants .

no mention of where it comes from or why it does it is made.

The surviving tribes apparently then vanquish the machine by killing and burying the machine and some of the mutants.

several hundred years later the tribes have become four large corporations fighting for what resources are left . One of these battles awakens the machine and we have lots of completely ridiculous machine prophecy stories.

Some scenes were Ok but the worst ever storyline is always in the back of your mind.

  • I shouldn't really comment but...

I can't fully comment on the film as I only saw the first 15 minutes or so. The opening 'war/fight' scenes were of poor technical and acting quality and as soon as I saw Ron Perlman in a monk's habit I couldn't take anymore and returned the film. Sorry but this is a no-no from me...

I seldom use the word hate, but here i can't help but feel its appropriate when describing this movie.

    I hated it........

That much infact, that i simply ejected the disk half way through, this action was prompted by, but not solely, the fact that the films idea of the future seems half baked.... i mean steam powered air craft that are fuelled by coal and get this.... are space ships as well......???? Give me a break.

On top of this the acting is awful, saying it's wooded and forced is being kind, and i'm all for artistic special effects when they add to the movie like in 300 or sucker punch, but here it just adds to feeling that everything from the opening titles is a complete and utter waste or time and money!!!!
