Simon Callow gives a magnificent, often moving performance -- indeed many magnificent moving performances in this living literary biography of Dickens life and work. Simon Callow is way too excitable for my liking, so anything I may have learned of interest about Dickens was overshadowed by the dramatic exuberance of the narration. Disappointing
