In yet another Irish rural saga, a young American man returns to the village from which his deceased mother came, sending the residents into a turmoil. Sounds familiar? The only twist in the tale is that the man is black, but that's not enough to keep you entertained throughout this well-meaning but cliché-ridden drama. Taking a break from the Bond films, Pierce Brosnan is one of the film's producers, and he also stars as the local publican.

    The Nephew

I watched this purely as Pierce Brosnan was in it but he had only a small part to play in the story. It was an enjoyable film and my daughter enjoyed it more so as a family film it would be quite good. The pace was very relaxed and the scenery of the settings were lovely. No sex or violence what more can you ask for a lovely Sunday evening film.
