Although I loved the New Avengers when it was first broadcast (I was about 9) I thought it would be very disappointing to re-visit ('Space: 1999' was a particular let-down). So I rented the first DVD in the set without really expecting much, but it was great! Great acting, editing etc and the plots are well on the right side of 'far fetched'. If you watched this first time round and loved it, I recommend it unreservedly. If you've not seen it before, I'm not sure - it might lack the nostalgia value - but unless you try it, you'll never know! No swearing and - even though U.S. networks rejected the show due to the violent nature of the episodes - it only has mild violence.
