    Original Karate Kid star Ralph Macchio insists he snubbed a cameo appearance in the upcoming remake out of loyalty to fans of the 1980s classic. The actor shot to international fame as a teenager in 1984 when he landed the part of Daniel LaRusso in the first Karate Kid movie. He went on to star in two sequels before the mantle was passed to a young Hilary Swank in 1994's The Next Karate Kid.
