    The Haunting

    To achieve maximum enjoyment from watching The Night Listener DO NOT read any other review on this page with a date that proceeds mine. The other reviews contain plot spoilers and are written by narrow minded reviewers. Having said that, everyone is entitled to their opinion and we all look for different things in film. The spoilers are not on though.

    Your enjoyment of The Night Listener will largely depend on whether you choose to accept that not all films in this genre mirror The Sixth Sense and have to contain a 'twist' to be effective. The realisation that The Night Listener is a true story also helps support our understanding towards the subtleties of this film. I'm not Robin Williams' biggest fan but here he is superb playing a head strong character with a big heart. The film is tense and well structured. It isn't a cinematic film, it's small and therefore suits DVD. There is a strong haunting throughout the film and although the films conclusion may infuriate some for different reasons, it is the true conclusion to a real life mystery and therefore has integrity. The Night Listener is for those who enjoy patient mystery thrillers that linger in the mind.

    Night Listener

    Film started out good and was getting exciting. Just as i thought there was going to be a big scene the film just ended! Way too short, only 70mins long.
