    Okayish

Carey is a good lead, although there is the odd gurn he is strong in places. The whole theory of the film does not stand up to scrutiny but overall good mindless fun.

    Here's 23 words to describe.......this

Appalling, weird, boring, ridiculous, dreadful, dreary, humdrum, uninspiring, atrocious, mind-numbing, bizarre, drivel, abysmal, lacklustre, dire, awful, claptrap, tosh, tedious, dull, inadequate, deficient, laughable.

    I didn't like it.

    Laughably bad

Dull, poorly written & badly acted.

I saw it at the cinema and lasted about 3/4's of an hour before leaving and feeling ripped off by the ticket price.

I like Jim Carrey in his usual comedic role but I couldn't take him seriously in this this film, it is garbage.

    Something different!

I liked this movie - something different, and a little scary. I found the movie quite dark, but then that's the point! Carey does a reasonable job of playing the man turning crazy because of the contents of a book.... not a rubber face or joke in sight.

Virginia Madsen is a total fox is this film.

Just begin to worry if you start finding '23' in your life!

    A plodder I'm afraid...

I have to totally agree with the Midlands reviewer on the 25th Feb. The trailers for this promised a great looking film, but they were the best bits ! Though this has a reasonable-ish twist at the end, it isn't quite enough to make up for what is generally a trudge of a movie that never really gets off the ground. Could not really recommend it .

    23

A superb story-line with very good acting, Carrey is superb in this serious role compared to his usual comedic roles. The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat up until the last minute. It is a bit slow at the start but picks up speed very quickly into a gripping story with plenty of twists in it.

The movie is quite scary when you start to compare it to your life and you may see some comparisons in how you can create 23 out of your name or your birthdate. This movie will leave you thinking about for the following few days.

A very good watch - rent it now.

    Just Bearable...

Well....At least they got the advertising right...

Looked like a brilliant film - based upon a new idea... however, just turned out to be a drawn out film about nothing much in general.

The ending was a huge let down to be honest...and slightly implausible in some parts...

The only thing that stuck with me after watching this film was the novelty of driving back from the cinema seeing how many times the number 23 appeared.... Then I got bored - Much like i did during the film.

If you were expecting a blockbuster... then don't go and see this... If you're just bored then it will satisfy a couple of hours.... but just remember - it's 2 hours you wont get back!

    Wears thin...

I had looked forward to watching this film following the much publised concept surrounding the number 23! However, the best bits of the movie were in the trailers and after the first 45minutes the films premise becomes very tiring and dull...what had appeared to be a promising film was let down by the much drawn out concept and the lack-lustre ending was a big let down.

    Senseless and dull!

Carrey is not really suited for this type of film, but then the bad script didn't help much either!I got half way through the film not quite sure what the point of the film was. The concept wasn't very good to begin with, and proof of the pudding was this shoddy film! Don't bother with this. It seems like alot is going on in the film storywise, but at the end the story went absolutely nowhere, plus the story was never very credible or believable. A film with alot of hype and no substance whatsoever!
