Being a huge fan of the Ricky Gervais original,I honestly approached this with an open mind.
Suffice to say:
THIS DUMB,UN-FUNNY & UTTERLY POINTLESS REMAKE IS SO GLARINGLY INFERIOR TO THE ENGLISH ORIGINAL IN EVERY IMAGINABLE WAY THAT I'M AT-A-TOTAL-LOSS AS TO WHY EVEN MR GERVAIS ALLOWED HIS NAME TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DRIVEL.to wit: It's horrendous. Ye I have forewarned thee!
but this is a series that grows. it's weird at first to spot the original characters and the slightly morphed Americanized versions, but try to get past that and you will discover a real gem. With time (especially the later series which bear absolutely no relation to the British original), this really does become a work of genius. Steve CarelI - who is wonderfully dour as the suicidal uncle in Little Miss Sunshine - plays Michael (the David Brent character) as a hopelessly enthusiasic person, heading towards a doom that he never manages to see coming. Whilst his sidekick, Dwight, is a very weird twist on the Gareth character. Watch this series to get to know them and prepare to be blown away by Seasons 2 & 3. Perhaps even better than Gervais, certainly up there with Larry David as the best US comedy of the century so far.

Her secretary, Andrew (Ryan Reynolds), loathes working under “Satan’s mistress”, but he’s committed to his career and clings to... Read more
