The second series of the US Office is in danger. In danger of actually being funnier than its British counterpart. As much as the order of the day for David Brent was cringe, cringe and cringe again, Michael Scott's brief seems more to be about Americans parodying themselves. Many Americans don't see themselves as the larger-than-life figures that they are yet the cast of this show do exactly that. With Jim being the most 'British' of the lot, the one who is most able to roll his eyes at the antics of his colleagues, the link to the British element of humour is maintained but other than that, the US version has taken on a life all of its own and keeps going from strength to strength.
