    Funniest American Sitcom EVER!

If you watched the first series of the American version of the office and were very dissapointed as you thought they had taken a good british sitcom and RUINED it... then you're in the same boat as me!! HOWEVER, with the 2nd series, they've moved away from the Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant story line and written their own version of the Office. In essence... this is a completely different programme to the British Office and only really shares the same title (and the fact that Jim (Tim) and Pam (Dawn) are secretly in love with each other!!)

Anyways... this has meant that the Americans have taken a great British concept and made it in their own way, thus, making an absolutely hillarious sitcom. I've watched every one of the episodes and I have never laughed so loud and for so long ever in my life. The whole series is a real treat to watch and if ANYONE out there doesn't think this comedy is hillarious... well... then I'll just eat my hat.

    American Office is a Triumph

Like I'm sure many of you out there I was very sceptical of the American version of the Office but was very pleasantly suprised! Steve Carrell is superbly cast in the lead role and the magic of his performance is in that he doesn't try and copy Gervais's Brent but create his own very different but equaly cringe worthy american boss. With Gervais and Merchant Exec producing the show it is in safe hands and the jokes role smoothly. With exeception of a bad american version of Finchie the cast and the humor is a joy. This American version of Office life is not to be missed!

Give it a chance and you won't regret it

I didn't think this was anything special to begin with. The first series mostly seems to be a rehash of the British version, albeit with a few key differences. However, the second series develops into something special - it just keeps getting better and better. Sure there are a few episodes that aren't fantastic - but they're all, at the least, good entertainment and some episodes are plain hilarious For those lucky enough to have seen series 3, this rings true perhaps even more. Highly recommended !

    (Ignore the Nay-Sayers)

Maybe when this show started it was too close to the original (a classic- and anyone who says different is just plain wrong) but it has quickly become its own show.

Less realistic than the British show but consistnantly very funny. Notably the support characters who get many oppertunites to shine.

    Funny Americans

Too hilarious for words. I became addicted to the show. Comedy is right on, acting is even better. Will not be disappointed unless you don't like to laugh out loud.

Made a great UK thing a great US thing

I was sceptical of an American version of this great British show, but I have to confess they have made something that is absolutely superb. It is so positively addicting I couldn't help but watch two entire seasons in the course of a weekend. Laugh out loud funny, multidimensional characters, and never predictable. One of the best TV shows of the last 10 years, in any country.

I was determined not to like it, but I have to admit - I love it!

I was CERTAIN that nothing could be as funny or brilliant or orginal as the UK version. And I have to admit that the first few episodes are kind of hard to get used to. But the more I watched, the more I laughed and I actually have to say that the US version is BETTER!!! Even more brilliant and funny! The characters and their stories are far more developed and Steve Carrel is a genius. Give the Americans a chance - you will not be sorry.

    The Office:An AmericanWork Place

This is excellent! It has some brilliant laugh out loud moments and I just can't stop watching after one episode - got watch them all at once. I can't believe I'm about to say that it is better than the British version - I didn't think anything could be. I'm chomping at the bit waiting for series 3 to come in the post. All the character lines are just brilliant and Steve Carell is fantastically cringe-worthy - its the best!
