An average sequel
By Paul Gager from Pontefract, England , 23 Mar 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
I was fairly impressed with the first film so i thought i would try the 2nd one, mainly just to see how the story progresses.
I have to say i was dissapointed.
The follow up did not have the errie edge the first one had and now Damien is seven years older, the fact he is not really a creepy little boy any more lost the film its edge.
This combined with a poor choice of actors for some characters and some corny death scenes really made this a very average follow up
Not holding out much hope for the third installment but will see it just to see how the trilogy ends.- Was this review helpful to you?

(36)Return of the devil
By RJNeb2 (922 reviews) from London , 26 Feb 2013No classic but the sequel to the 1976 Anti-Christ blockbuster is actually really good fun. Its sole purpose is to devise grisly deaths for the people who discover who the young teen Scott-Taylor really is, and, in that regard, it comes up trumps with an incident with a crow on a deserted road, an ice hockey accident and especially, a wayward lift all doing the job. Plus this hokum is pretty well acted and Goldsmith is riffing enjoyably on his iconic score.- Was this review helpful to you?

No plot just a series of grisly set pieces
By Bassman71 (617 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 08 Aug 2012<Damien now a teenager, looked after by Fathers brother, enrolled in military school, people suspicious, dark forces protecting him.
Follow-up to the disappointing Omen which is a basically without a plot and just a series of fatal set pieces as Damien and co bump off the whoever gets up their noses.
The acting is better in this one helped greatly by the excellent William Holden and a young Lance Henriksen but the script isnt the best.
Although dated, some of the set pieces are very well done and still have a grisly effect all these years on with the ice and elevator scenes being the standouts.
The infamous music returns maybe a little too much this time but is still very powerful once it gets going.>- Was this review helpful to you?
