It's a nothing film
By a customer , 03 May 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
This director cannot make up his mind whether he wants to make a comedy, social satire or just plain drama. So one minute it's full blown drama and the next it's slapstick comedy, that gets to the tradition happy ending for all, that American films seem to must have! I'd give it a miss unless you are a Leighton Meester fanatic, as she is looks scrumptious throughout.- Was this review helpful to you?

(9)beautiful film :-)
By Rory88 (4 reviews) , 16 Jun 2013I chose this film on the fact it boasted Hugh Laurie, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody and Oliver Platt among its cast. I wasnt dissapointed. Leighton Meester is wonderful as the daughter running away from a cheating boyfriend into the arms of a much older man who just happens to be her fathers best friend. the fall out from this relationship is both funny and sad. Alhough this film isnt a blockbuster it is beautifully acted and very real. A lovely film to watch on an otherwise boring sunday evening. My only complaint - not enough of the georgous Adam Brody!!!!- Was this review helpful to you?

Utterly depressing
By a customer , 12 Jun 2013Comedy? I laughed 1/2 a time throughout. Hugh Laurie's worst accent ever. And an utterly depressing plot. This is NOT a comedy!!- Was this review helpful to you?

Carnage ensues when 24 year old falls in love with married neighbour
By twosoddingcats (222 reviews) from Kingston-upon-Thames , 02 Jun 201324 year old Leighton Meester comes back home briefly after leaving home 5 years earlier after her boyfriend cheats on her. Her parents live in dullsville Orange, New Jersey and she promptly causes carnage by starting an affair with married neighbour Hugh Laurie....her parents are best friends with their neighbours. I sadly spent a lot of time freeze framing the massive bald spot Hugh Laurie has in the middle of his head!! A so-so drama...- Was this review helpful to you?

Shawkat was the best
By open (253 reviews) , 26 May 2013This was fresh funny and a lot of fun. Meester should break free form Gossip Girl. Janney and Keener are always good value but the real star is Shawkat - see it- Was this review helpful to you?

Hugh Laurie fails to convince
By a customer , 22 May 2013Very disappointing - the utter lack of sexual chemistry between Hugh Laurie's character and the daughter of his friend makes the plot completely improbable. Where did that first kiss come from? And why did she kiss him back? He may as well have been cuddling a dog. His 'American' accent did nothing to help his credibility. However there were some amusing moments and I enjoyed the acting from the young woman who played his daughter, from Oliver Platt, and the actresses playing the wives.- Was this review helpful to you?
