Most helpful review The Organization

  • Enjoyable tense thriller . Ahead of its time!

The Organization is a bit of an enigma.

The first in the series was In the Heat of the Night. It starred Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger a classic in its own right.

The second film by contrast was a lower key melodrama and in my view not nearly as good either the first film or this one.

I believe that this film is a lot better than some sequals. This film was way ahead of its time and I thought convincing because there are no easy answers to the problems with drugs, that have been faced, and particularly in the US, probably still face today.

It has its fair share of thrills and a race against time but a mood underlying the futility of trying to stop drug shipmemts.

Definitely a film to enjoy but if you are comparing it with In The Heat of the Night, then it cannot match it.

If you're into 1960's PC, then this is the movie for you ... but that apart, it's not too bad . A passable couple of hours light entertainment giving a view back to 'how we were', or weren't, as the case may be ... hmmmn!
