  • A film about Jane Russell's breasts...?

    [Highly rated reviewer]

I ordered this film having watched The Aviator as I love Howard Hughes films and hadn't seen this one, all I'd heard about it was that it was almost pornographic and basically starred Jane Russell bursting out of her top.

I was surprised (and relieved) to find that it was a good old fashioned Western with Billy the Kid and Doc Holiday teaming up for some good old fashioned sharp shooting. Jane Russell and her assets hardly interrupted at all! If you love old films of any sort, this is the one for you; I'm not a huge fan of Westerns but this was perfectly shot with excellent characters. Funny, romance (of sorts!)and lots of action.

  • The Outlaw, black and white western movie.

Although an old black and white movie it has a good plot with lots of twists and turns in it and is played quite light heartedly which produces a few laughs.

  • Poor Western

    Rated - 2.0 stars

Right straight off, I rented this title simply because years ago I saw the poster with the Jane Russell lying back in the hay.

Given the reason for renting the film and why it has become famous it shouldn't have been too surprising that it isn't actually that good. The tale is estentially about two gunfighters fighting over the affectations of a woman (Jane Russell). The story just kinds of plods along and doesn't really go anywhere unexpected so the ending won't be a shock to anyone. At first I thought of giving this an average rating, but it really doesn't merit that, its not terrible or anything its just empty of any major scenes that could really make a film stand out. I suppose that's why Jane Russell was the main selling point.

  • what a poor copy?

I know this is an old film but the quality of the dvd was terrible. I have never seen such a poor quality, grainy film in all my life, It was as much as i could do to recognised what was going on, after about 2 minuteds that was it. I dont think a dvd rental company should issue this, very disappointing
