    Intelligent whodunnit

An American PhD student (Elijah Wood) arrives in Oxford hoping to have his thesis supervised by legendary mathematician Arthur Seldom (John Hurt). Instead, the two of them become tangled up in a series of murders with mathematical clues leading to a place neither of them suspects...

This is an intelligent whodunnit, and keeps to the spirit of the book despite a few changes. Both the leads do a great job and the pace and the tension are kept up throughout. A thoroughly entertaining film (spot the slightly gruesome cameo appearance from cult film director Alex Cox!), good story, excellent direction and nice performances.

    Very Odd Film

My wife & I stopped watching half way through the film. We discussed how easy and simple the plot was. Shamefully, we concluded that the 'Oxford College/Morse' film was made simple for American viewers! We watched the remaining part and noticed several low budget mistakes in continuity & editing. NIL Stars!!
