Intense family dramaBy a customer from SW , 08 Jun 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Emotional and well scripted look at the pain, and divided loyalties of old friends and their families. A mothers pain is beautifully portrayed as her whole world is threatened and turned upside down.

A boring horrorBy Big__Al (48 reviews) , 13 Jun 2013Didn't get all the way through this one. Have to say it was very slow paced. Can't say too much more about it, really.
soul destroying.By mooey64 (13 reviews) , 08 Jun 2013i actually loved this film - it opens your eyes about your kids and to speak to them more and listen to their problems. the families friendship over 17 years was ripped apart instantly. the actors were very good as was the acting - the emotions these people gave were spot on. I hope you enjoy watching the acting skills as much as I did. x
Very PoorBy a customer , 02 Jun 2013Considering how much I enjoyed this book the film was a gigantic let down, it was boring and mundane and left out all the parts that made the book exciting, interesting and touching. If you enjoyed the book you will understand what I mean!! However if you haven't read the book, do not watch the film as it will give you a very poor idea of something that is actually brilliant. If I was Jodie Picoult I would be extremely disappointed, this could be so much better than it was.
Made for TV!By seasidejennifer (7 reviews) , 01 Jan 2013Made for TV!!! Although I have to say I can remember the book being fairly lightweight. Typecast characters, the fathers being parodies of themselves!
Really Awful!By a customer , 05 Aug 2012Worst adaptation of a book I have ever seen! You always expect the book to be better but this film ignored all the most important elements of the story and came from a different angle altogether.
