Guess I watched a different film to everyone else, or maybe just went with a different attitude hoping and expecting to see lots of daft slapstick humour.
I saw exactly what I expected and totally enjoyed it, and with the other members of the audience laughing out loud as well, I guess I was not unique in my hopes.
Inspector Clouseau is a hilarious character and as Peter Sellers is no longer with us, its great to see an actor of Steve Martins calibre taking on the role. If they make a third I will be back to see that with the same attitude.
Do yourself a favour and watch only the trailer for this movie, which runs just over 2 minutes.
It contains just about all this film has to offer, and will save you from 90 minutes of constantly saying ' There was only one Peter Sellers!' .
Captain Kirk, John Steed, Clouseau etc.. are characters that had a symbiotic relationship with the original actors that played them, and no matter how hard you try, cannot be reproduced with the same magic and cleverness.
I thought Steve Martin would have learned this from his previous attempts at Bilko and Clouseau.
I guess he needs the money!
Laugh! They've even got some of the film's production crew writing positive reviews here!!!
Steve Martin does it again!
Someone needs to redefine the words 'embarrassing', 'tragic' and 'pathetic' in the dictionary.
Quite simple add...
Martin, Steve: American comic actor (well sort of was once!)
Tragic beyond mere words!
Martin give it up ...somethings are more important than money ...like self respect for example!

Utterly brilliant.
Steve Martin plays the part of Clueso so well.
What i liked was the clever funny stunts in it.Not going to ruin it for you,but the wine, the car, loads.
Clueso as always proves to be the best detective at end.
Thorughly enjoyable for all the family.
Loved it.
Stands out to me more than first one, can't remember that one too well.
Easy watching but nothing special. No real story line.
This film is so ridiculous you can't help but laugh out loud. A good bit of clean honest fun and Steve Martin never fails to amuse. For me this was better than that first one, would definitely recommend this as a good comendy to lighten your mood.
Hi i thoroughly enjoyed Pink panther One and Now Pink Panther two.
Very Funny and a good twist to the story.
Steve Martin is hilarious as Inspector Clouseau and everything you think he couldnt do he does.
Its a n excellent film and i hope they make Pink Panther three.
Film for all the family to enjoy
not as good as the first one.
It's always going to be difficult to revive characters which previous actors made so completely their own.
Don't get me wrong, the cast was solid, the story was as thin as they get but really what spoils is that you are constantly comparing the Frenchness of Steve Martin to that of Peter Sellers.
So, if you can get over all of that; and I didn't really, and view the film as a crime comedy, it really doesn't stack up. The gags are slow, the script is slow, the delivery is painful in some scenes.
If you see it as a Sellers' tribute movie, then it might just get in under the wire.
I so wanted to give this a better rating but can't.
good film to watchi i will recamend this film to my woork collegs
