    [Highly rated reviewer]

This is a gem of a movie, starring James Vander Beek of dawson's creek fame,in the vein of night of the living dead,28days later, and many other movies.

This offers scares and chills and i very much enjoyed this, its a B-movie,but don't let that put you off,its really worth watching, not too gruesome, not too scary. But a film too watch and snuggle up with someone in the dark!

The Dvd is packed full of extras too.

Haven't read the book (although Clive Barker clearly stole the basic idea from The Midwich Cuckoos) , so don't know how accurate the film (based on Village of the Damned) is, but it started off with a lot of promise, but then just seemed to lose it's legs.

Got so far into the story, and then somebody decided to call it a day, so there was a rush to get to the end with a half hearted conclusion..

This was painful they seemed to make the story up as they are going along the acting was good but the story was awful. My only question is why did Clive put his name to this film.

This film is simular to children of the damned which is worth watching.

A truly awful film. You have to wonder why Dawson agreed to appear in this dross. Like many of Clive Barker's imaginings it doesn't translate to the screen well, but that's not helped by high school theatre-style acting, shocking dialogue and a budget to match.

The idea itself might have had potential. All the children on earth (none of the ones in the movie appear to be younger than seven, so what happened to the little 'uns - nobody thinks to mention this) go into seizure on the same day. 10 years later the kids all leap up all zombiefied and start killing the adults. I guess they're pointing at the fear society has of gangs of younger people. But, the execution is dire. As in Exorcist 2 kind of dire. All running around and shooting and a message that's repeated until it feels like a claw hammer to the back of the cranium.

It gets half a star because the leading lady is quite hot in an understated way.

  • A good 20 minutes!

This film had a good twenty minute start, and then sixty-four wasted minutes.

I'm a bit too much of a Sci-fi/horror 'end of the world' movie buff to be a good judge of such films, but even I thought this was a bit of a waste of time. Confusing film, confusing storyline, confusing ending - with a bit of a semi-religious hysteria note in it.

This is a text-book case 'made for afternoon television' type film.
