OK thriller

This made-for-TV thriller is not exactly Weir at his best but it's not a bad way to spend an hour and a quarter.
An anthropologist writing a thesis at home feels threatened by the intrusive presence and bullying behaviour of a plumber who seems to spend all his time smashing up her bathroom.
She thinks she's in danger but her husband and friends think she's got an overactive imagination.
This is moderately entertaining but is let down by a bit of a stupid ending.- Was this review helpful to you?

(8)Oddity From An A-List Director

Having done 'Picnic At Hanging Rock' and 'The Last Wave', Weir decided to make a little 16mm film in three weeks for Australian TV. There are echoes of his other well-crafted 'student' film ('The Cars That Ate Paris'), focussing on paranoia and quirky characters. Ivar Kants is brilliant as the plumber and Judy Morris is perfectly cast as his nemesis. The ending is a bit weak, but that doesn't spoil the fun along the way.
