Dreadful

This is evidence of an amateur with a camera, with a bit of money, but with no script and no talent, neither in front of nor behind the camera. This film was the pits. The story makes no sense whatsover. It's trying to be a sentimental love story and starts with an engaged jewish woman collapsing in a storm (v.poor CGI storm effect) only to be saved by an undercover german soldier. She's supposed to be in a coma and he gives her his bed and reads poetry to her... vomit! When she awakes, in perfect health and with perfect make up, she proceeds to shag the german poet and immediately falls in love! Utter nonsensical cr*p. The side story of the german invasion of Poland could have saved the film, but this is so staged and wooden, I think my local amateur dramatics club would have done a better job. Really, really poor. Don't waste your rental.

I found this film hard to follow, it was difficult at times to tell the partisans from the germans and a lot of the film was at night. having said that I enjoyed the film even though the plot was farsical

The time scale to this film is all over the place, it skips months at a time and does not flow well, could have been a good film, but isnt.

This film demonstrates how far wrong you can go with a WW2 film that deals with such dramatic storylines. I now really appreciate a good war film that builds tension and gets you involved. So, how bad is this? Well aside from the wandering mike already commented on in the first love scene,, take an example of the script: The scene - Jewish villagers fleeing through woods with German soldiers in persuit, gunshot and bodies dropping at all angles. Enter our German hero on horseback to save his Jewish love who is running with Jewish family member as soldiers shoot through the trees - he explains he is the son of a general and tells the soldiers to leave these Jews as he must take them away. The soldiers obey and our hero turns to the Jews and announces ' You must leave these woods, the soldiers will kill you!' ' I know!' replies the Jew - hey no kidding! There must have been a decent budget for this film so what a waste of investment. I feel sorry for the actors involved as they won't want to add this film to their CV, hopefully their fee paid some bills though!

A different take on a WW2 film/love story

For a non big budget film, this was a good film. I enjoyed it. I thought it was a lovely feeling throughout between the two main characters. The storyline could have been more involved but as was it was a lovely film. I did feel that the portreyal of time throughout the film was a little rushed but all in all well thought out and well executed with what they had.
