A young boy lies awake in his room one snowy Christmas Eve, excited and alert. Breathing silently. Hardly moving. Waiting. He's listening for a sound he's afraid that he might never hear--the ringing bells of Santa's sleigh. The time is five minutes to midnight. Suddenly, a thunderous roar startles the boy. Clearing the mist from his window he sees the most amazing sight--a gleaming black train rumbles to a stop right in front of his house, the steam from its powerful engine hissing through the night sky and the softly falling snowflakes. The boy rushes outside, clad only in his pajamas and slippers, and is met by the train's conductor who seems to be waiting just for him. "Well, are you coming?" the conductor inquires. "Where?" the boy asks. "Why, to the North Pole--of course. This is the Polar Express!" What unfolds is an adventure that follows a doubting young boy, who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole; during this ride, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

This is an absolutely wonderful film, with loads of fantastic imagery that make you feel like you're on the train itself. Along with great music and acting, this film puts you into the chrismas spirit very quickly. young children will be totally absorbed in this treat of a film

A truly magical film that crossess between te boundries of adults and kids. Like The Snowman, people of all ages will love this Christmasy cartoon

the spirit of christmas is kept alive if you believe

This film was outstanding. It is a film that I would recommend to watch. It surpassed my expectations and I throughly enjoyed it. I would watch this again and is a must to watch around christmas time. Superb family film to enjoy

Paying for packages when Freeview show majority of films

Always watchable - why I have to pay for it in my package remains a mystery, money for old rope - especially when ITV show it often enough throughout November and December, every year, FOR FREE!

lots of action, good stuff, and really good animation.

Even if your not a fan of animation films you'll love the storyline in this film

Magical must see!!!

This movie is a beautiful and magical family movie, it's a must see at christmas time (a traditional xmas eve movie in our house) It will melt your heart inside and make you feel all warm and cuddly so if you haven't already seen it get it for next xmas and curl up on the couch with your kids, you will be in for a treat.
