Whether you are a Prisoner fan or not I would challenge anyone to take a look at the whole Prisoner series to enjoy and possibly try to understand the 1960s thinking.

A 36-year-old series appears surprisingly up to date and gets the brainbox wondering if it could happen in today's Blairite political environment. Exactly how far will the thought police go or how far will the spin-doctors of today try to manipulate our thoughts.

Having seen the series twice before there are still episodes and scenes that get the old grey matter bubbling over with "what if and could it really" thoughts.

The final episode tells the story and gives that final twist but I have yet to watch that this time round. The additional features add real value and background to the characters, many of whom went on to other great series and performances.

Take a trip down memory lane or even try to get to grips with why your parents have weird moments by watching this series and I bet you will get hooked. 5 DVDs in the series, watch them in order and then ask yourself "exactly when was that made" 60s/70s/80s or later?

Definitely worth a watch.
