Having Christopher Walken as the archangel Gabriel merits top marks simply for bizarre casting and plot audacity, but nothing for the way director Greg Spence presents his good-versus-evil showdown. Carrying on from the first movie, Walken's Gabriel, angered that God has favoured humans over his kind, returns to hunt down Flashdance's Jennifer Beals, who is pregnant with the saviour of mankind. But where the original boasted some good, offbeat ideas, this quickly degenerates into just another dumb chase movie. Not even the sterling efforts of Walken can save it. The whole Prophecy concept was created by Gregory Widen, who also gave us the Highlander movies and TV series.
Once again Gabriel is on his quest to eradicate mankind from the sight of God
To fully appreciate this film, you need to watch the first in the trilogy, as this leads on from there. The acting seems fine, and the overall script is similar to the previous film. Although not quite as good, I found it to be entertaining.
Its not a great film but it's worth watching.
