The Proposal
When high-powered book editor Margaret faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she's actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew, who she's tormented for years. He agrees to participate in the charade, but with a few conditions of his own. The unlikely couple heads to Alaska to meet his quirky family, and the always-in-control city girl finds herself in one comedic fish-out-of-water situation after another. With an impromptu wedding in the works and an immigration official on their tails, Margaret and Andrew reluctantly vow to stick to the plan despite the precarious consequences.

I do!!!
just got back from a preview screening of the proposal. and it was brilliant. bullock and reynolds make a great tag team comedy duo and betty white has still got it!!!
if you love a good sandra bullock rom/com you won't be disappointed and if you love ryan reynolds crazy comedy nutness you'll get some of that as well.
i cant recommened this film enough. you will love it! -

Predictable and not very funny
Comedies are normally predictable but this one is not funny.
I don't buy the ending at all and people are too one dimensional for my liking.

Sandra Bullock's new movie The Proposal has ended The Hangover's drunken run at the top of the U.S. box office with a £22.6 million opening weekend take.
