Most helpful review
Very enjoyable
By a customer from Somerset , 31 Aug 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
This is not as bad as the other reviews state. For live television the actors did really well and the story is close to the original scripts. Hope the same team will re-make Quatermass II and the Pit- Was this review helpful to you?

(12)Disappointing, Clumsy, Slow and Ineffective
By trystand (5 reviews) , 07 Sep 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Disappointing. This is a recording of a 'live' broadcast, which is clumsy, slow and ineffective when watched as a recorded film.
Heck of an achievement I'm sure when it was 'live', as a standalone film however it lacks on many levels.
Unless you have a special interest in the original broadcast of this from the 1950's, I would not recommend this film.- Was this review helpful to you?

casting
By pertwee1 (3 reviews) from Bedford , 22 Jun 2009the intention behind this production was extremely risky but rewarding; it is very rare to have a live drama program broadcasted into hundreds of homes and also by adapting the original for todays audience, i have to take my hat off. However the casting was wrong, and that's where the flaw lies, Jason Flemyng [the main character] was, in what the acting world would class as, wooden and emotionly unresponsive to the action and therefore highlights that live stage is not his chosen medium. It is for that reason and that reason alone that I feel that this program was weak because as a central character you need empathy, emotion and a personality that you can connect to; however none of these were present for Professor Quatermass.- Was this review helpful to you?

Fantastic!!
By thearcadians (11 reviews) from Glasgow , 24 Aug 2008This was a truly gripping and at times frightning drama.
I think a round of applause must go to the cast and crew for doing such a fantastic job of making this so slick and flawless even though it was broadcast live.
And of course, this features the ever loveable and ever talented David Tennant...who funnily enough plays a doctor....
You've got to rent this...- Was this review helpful to you?

Quatermass Experiment
By a customer from Poole,Dorset , 29 Jul 2008Having watched the original of this I was curious to see this and particularly interested as they did it live a few years ago. I was very impressed with what I saw! Great performances from Jason Flemyng and David Tennant in particular.- Was this review helpful to you?
